Biography
Ruth Marcondes Weinfeld has been a member of the Brazilian Bar Association
since 1986 (Rio de Janeiro, OAB 53524,
under Ruth do Amaral Marcondes Armando). She obtained a bachelor-level Certificate
in International Relations from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques,
in
France. While earning a Master's Degree from the
American
University
(Washington
D.C.,
Ruth Ferszt) in International Affairs, Ruth interned at the
World Bank, Western Africa Department. During that
time, she translated and interpreted for business
and financial meetings in Continental Portuguese.
Inspired by her Brazilian medical family, Ruth also
felt a calling to the health sector and became a
Registered Nurse in
Florida.
Therefore, Ruth brings her international, legal, and nursing
education to translation and interpreting. Courts,
Attorneys, Corporations, Hospitals, Translation Agencies and individuals
retain Ruth’s diverse linguistic services.
As a U.S. State Department conference-level Portuguese contract interpreter,
the highest level of interpretation tested by the Department,
Ruth brings broad experience and professionalism to the
market.
Also a member of the Switzerland-based International Association of Conference
interpreters, AIIC (Portuguese A, English B, Spanish C), Ruth’s linguistic performance
has been recognized by her peers.
An accredited and active member
of the American Translators Association as well (English
into Brazilian Portuguese), Ruth has received assignments
worldwide to perfect translations. In interpreting,
clients have become accustomed to Ruth’s excellent preparation,
performance, and upbeat demeanor. Ruth passed the Court
Interpreter Examination for Portuguese-Language Court
Interpreter given by the Office of the State Courts Administrator.
In translation, clients know they can expect Ruth’s meeting
all deadlines, with room to spare.
